KennebunkPort Brewing Co. Pumpkin Ale

KennebunkPort Brewing Co. Pumpkin Ale (4.7%): Im usually not one for the flavored ales, they always seem kinda gimmicky to me, but this time I decided to delve into the world of flavored beer just for a couple pints since I do dig dishes made with pumpkin so I figured fuck it, why not. Now this particular ale is far from mind blowing, but it did surprise me quite a bit. I expected the pumpkin flavor to be fairly subtle maybe more in the finish but this ale actually had quite a robust flavor profile. You can immediately taste a bit of spices and the pumpkin come right through, and it finished reasonably well for a lighter beer. The alcohol % is a tad disappointing on this one, but the flavor seems to make up for it.

Final Notes:
  • This beer was a great introduction to tasting my first ale produced from Portland Maine.
  • Seasonal Beer, not normally brewed year round.
  • Great flavor profile.
  • Could use a little more kick % wise but the spices and flavors of this ale make up for it.

Grade: B
