Maltesse Blonde

Maltesse Blonde (7.7%): a strong ale from France. This is a fairly rare French strong ale.

  • Pours a beautiful troubled medium amber liquid.
  • Smells bitter.
  • Immediate taste is very bitter like a strong coffee, a plum favor appears slightly later.
  • After taste is also bitter with hints of coffee and dark chocolate.
  • Buzz is moderate for ABV, on the other hand it's quite easy to drink.
  • Bottle design is not bad.

Verdict: this one has a lot of character. One piece of advice: drink this at room temperature (or a tad colder) in order to mitigate the bitterness. All in all it's a solid brew.
