Maudite (8%): a strong dark ale from Canada. 'Maudite' (French for "cursed") is another well-known strong ale from Unibroue the famous Chambly,Quebec brewery (see La Fin du Monde). Had this on-tap at a bar in Montreal.

  • Pours a dark amber liquid.
  • No smell.
  • Flavor is caramel-like with hints of chestnuts.
  • Aftertaste is quite fruity: grapes and apples mostly.
  • Mega buzz.
  • I like the evil character on the label.

Verdict: a great dark ale. Loved the complex aroma.
